3 Packs of 1995 Flair - Day 2

I'm glad to see that others enjoy the classy cards of '95 Flair as much as I do! I'll continue posting my loot as I open them. If you see something you like, call it out. I won't be able to ship for quite a while still but I'll etch your name in the back of the card with a knife so I know who to send it to.

PACK 4

This card represented Spanky's final season.

Today is Jay Buhner's 50th birthday! How about that? Happy birthday Jay!

I get a kick out of Kansas City stealing rival AL stars because it's usually the other way around. I especially like taking the Twins hand-me-downs.

The checklists aren't very functional. They're so glossy that checking the boxes would be very hard.

Especially since one side is black.

Just looking at Stan Javier reminds me of his father Julian. Put some glasses on him and they're the same person. I just learned that Stan was named after Julian Javier's teammate and friend, Stan Musial.

This card is really pretty.

PACK 5

Pack 5 kicked off with an insert card featuring Kirby Puckett.

I really enjoyed Dean as a Royal

'95 was Lou Whitaker's final season, yet he still put up an OPS of .890 on the board. Imagine what he could have done had he roided before 1991...

Back to back Vaughns

Pack 5 was a success.

PACK 6

"OMG dat trader!" - What would have been Tweeted when Boggs left Boston had Twitter existed.

Brosius was a fun name to say.

This is the most sensible checklist I've ever seen. The first half features AL teams in alphabetical order with 6-7 players from each team also in alphabetical order.

Kind of a let down of a pack. More tomorrow!

  2. Love the look of this stuff. Like we discussed, it had the high end appeal of the 90's. From box to the packs to the cards. These are beautiful both front and back.
