One Blaster of 2014 Bowman = Gold

I admit it, I've been a bad blogger this last week. This upcoming Saturday I'll graduate with a Masters of Business Administration, so you can understand how stressful it's been writing papers and crap. Trust me, I'd much rather be writing here than writing about marketing hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles. After a long week of studying and stuff, I went to Wally World last night and grabbed a blaster of 2014 Bowman. It was a nice reward indeed.

These are the '89 Bowman inserts. They're a lot like the 2011 Diamond Anniversary parallels, except they're on chrome stock. You'll have to hold one to appreciate it.

Country Breakfast has not aged well.

Christian Binford is the underdog fan favorite prospect of the Royals organization. Hopefully soon enough people throughout America will be asking "What's a Binford?"

Eric Hosmer's HR total as of May 5th = 0 HR

This is actually a mini, but I blew it up so you could see it better. Tell me, is that not the worst centering of any card you've seen in years? Not that I'm complaining, but WOOF.

Jose Iglesias is from Cuba

Now for the good stuff

This is a black paper parallel, one of the 30+ parallels of each prospect. I was happy to pull this even though Chris Flexen has little chance of ever making the Show. For some reason, that doesn't matter to prospectors.

Now for the really good stuff.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!

Woah, I beat the 1:1,600ish odds and pulled a gold chrome parallel of a 1st rounder! The card would grade a BGS 9 at best, but who gives a hoot. This card is sexy. The green/yellow/gold color combo is fantastic! Unfortunately I'll have to sell this because I'd be stupid not to. I anticipate enough to pay for my blaster, but not much more than that. Still... so sexy.

  1. You pulled more color in a blaster than I did in a jumbo box. Congrats!

  2. Congrats on the degree. I'd like to trade for the Tulo and the Dahl if they are available. Are the 89 Bowman inserts normal sized or 89 Bowman sized? I would assume they have shrunk them down, but you never know.

    1. The Tulo and Dahl are all yours! Just shoot me an email. They're normal sized, thankfully. Can't stand trying to store '89 Bowman!
